We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on residential and commercial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. Duties
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine roofing specifications and materials needed.
Install new roofs, including fixing tiles, slates, or metal sheets, ensuring durability and weather resistance.
Repair or replace damaged roofing components, addressing leaks or structural issues efficiently.
Operate power tools such as nail guns, drills, and saws safely and effectively.
Use hand tools for cutting, shaping, and fitting roofing materials with precision.
Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required for specialised roofing projects.
Assist with carpentry tasks related to roof framing and support structures.
Conduct heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely to avoid injury.
Apply masonry or plumbing skills when necessary for integrated building systems related to roofing.
Maintain a clean work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
Proven experience in roofing or related construction trades.
Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings relevant to roofing projects.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
Strong understanding of construction principles including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and general building practices.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights comfortably.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in executing complex tasks accurately.
Physical fitness suitable for demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Relevant certifications or training in roofing or construction trades are advantageous but not essential.
