We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of building types. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. Responsibilities
Reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings to determine roofing requirements.
Installing new roofs using appropriate materials such as tiles, shingles, or metal sheeting.
Repairing or replacing damaged roofing components to ensure weatherproofing and structural integrity.
Operating power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently.
Fabricating custom components using welding, carpentry, masonry, or other fabrication techniques as needed.
Assisting with the preparation of surfaces and ensuring proper insulation and waterproofing measures are applied.
Heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate installation or repairs at various heights.
Collaborating with other trades such as plumbing or masonry when necessary for specialised roofing projects.
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
Proven experience in roofing or related construction trades.
Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
Strong understanding of roofing materials, installation methods, and safety procedures at heights.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
Additional skills such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or general construction experience are advantageous.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail and safety awareness.
Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual labour in outdoor environments. Candidates should be committed to quality workmanship and safety standards while contributing positively to team projects.
