We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in roofing and related construction tasks, demonstrating a strong ability to work with various materials and tools. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety on the job site. The Roofer will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings.
Responsibilities
Install roofing systems including shingles, tiles, and flat roofs according to specifications.
Repair and replace damaged roofing materials to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing.
Perform heavy lifting and manoeuvring of materials such as timber, insulation, and roofing sheets.
Use hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and fastening roofing materials.
Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure proper integration of roofing systems with other building components.
Read and interpret schematics to follow design specifications accurately.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of roofs to identify potential issues or necessary repairs.
Requirements
Proven experience in roofing or related construction fields is essential.
Familiarity with masonry techniques is advantageous.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the workday.
Proficient in using hand tools such as saws, hammers, drills, and welders.
Knowledge of basic plumbing principles is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to fabricate solutions on-site as needed.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work at heights safely and effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
