We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Duties
Install new roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.
Repair or replace damaged or worn roofing components, including shingles, tiles, or metal sheets.
Inspect roofs for damage or deterioration and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance.
Measure roof dimensions accurately using schematics and blueprints to ensure proper material quantities.
Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and effectively.
Assist with the installation of flashing, gutters, and other roofing accessories.
Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate tasks such as masonry, carpentry, plumbing, or other related trades when necessary.
Lift heavy materials safely and efficiently to prevent injury or damage.
Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to all health and safety regulations throughout the project.
Skills
Proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints for accurate installation planning.
Experience with welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or other construction-related skills is advantageous.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised roofing equipment.
Knowledge of roofing materials such as shingles, tiles, metal sheets, or membrane systems.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively in various weather conditions.
Strong understanding of safety protocols related to working at heights and on construction sites.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for precise measurements and quality workmanship.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients when required.
