We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of commercial and residential buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. Duties
Measure and cut roofing materials accurately using hand tools and power tools
Install various roofing systems including shingles, tiles, metal sheets, and flat roofing materials
Repair or replace damaged roofing components to ensure waterproofing and structural integrity
Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to execute roofing projects effectively
Operate welding equipment where necessary to secure metal roofing components
Fabricate custom parts using carpentry, masonry, or fabrication skills as required
Assist with the installation of flashing, gutters, and ventilation systems
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
Use plumbing skills for integrating roof drainage systems when needed
Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, tiles, or metal sheets safely
Skills
Proficiency with schematics and technical drawings relevant to roofing projects
Experience with welding techniques for metal roof installations or repairs (nice-to-have)
Skilled in the use of hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and screwdrivers
Knowledge of construction principles with a focus on roofing systems
Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently
Competence in fabrication tasks involving cutting, shaping, and assembling materials
Strong carpentry skills for framing or structural modifications related to roofing
Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and working at heights safely
Basic plumbing knowledge for roof drainage system installation or repairs (preferred)
Masonry skills beneficial for integrating roofs with brickwork or other masonry elements
