We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of building types. Responsibilities
Install new roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components to ensure the integrity and longevity of the roof structure.
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to facilitate accurate installation and repairs.
Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and effectively.
Assist with the fabrication of roofing components on-site when necessary, ensuring precision and quality.
Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, tiles, metal sheets, or other roofing components to facilitate installation or repair work.
Conduct maintenance inspections to identify potential issues early and carry out necessary repairs promptly.
Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, masons, plumbers, or electricians to ensure seamless project execution.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to roofing projects.
Experience with welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing or construction is advantageous.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery specific to roofing tasks.
Knowledge of roofing materials including shingles, tiles, metal sheets, membranes or other specialised products.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper posture and technique.
Strong understanding of safety protocols related to working at heights and with construction equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail for precise installation and repairs.
