We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of residential and commercial properties. Responsibilities
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and roofing plans to ensure accurate installation and repairs
Install new roofing systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
Repair or replace damaged roofing materials such as tiles, shingles, metal sheets, or membranes
utilise welding techniques where necessary for metal roofing components
Fabricate custom parts or modifications using fabrication tools and techniques
Perform heavy lifting of materials such as tiles, sheets, or insulation in accordance with safety guidelines
Conduct masonry or carpentry tasks related to roof structure support when required
Work with plumbing or other trades to ensure proper integration of roof drainage systems
Follow health and safety protocols diligently during all phases of work to prevent accidents at height or with heavy equipment
Qualifications
Proven experience in roofing, construction, or related trades is highly desirable
Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and roofing plans
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
Strong understanding of construction principles including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and heavy lifting techniques
Ability to work safely at heights and in various weather conditions
Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged standing
Relevant certifications in health & safety practices are advantageous but not mandatory
