Job Overview

We are seeking a

Roofing Labourer

to join our experienced team working on

social housing maintenance and refurbishment projects

. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in roofing or working at height, with a solid understanding of on-site safety practices. This role requires physical stamina, reliability, and a proactive attitude to support roofing and general construction tasks to a high standard.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Assist roofers with installation, repairs, and maintenance of various roof types (e.g. pitched, flat, and tiled). Carry out stripping, re-felting, and re-batoning works as required. Safely handle and transport materials and equipment on site. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently. Support the erection and dismantling of access equipment and scaffolding (under supervision). Ensure all work areas are kept clean, tidy, and free from hazards. Adhere to all on-site health and safety procedures, including working at height regulations. Collaborate closely with other trades and team members to meet project deadlines.

Requirements & Qualifications

Previous roofing or working-at-height experience is essential.

Experience working on

social housing or occupied properties

is highly desirable. Knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and safe handling practices. Physically fit with the ability to lift and carry materials (up to 25 kg). DBS Requirement at start of self employment

Working at Height or Asbestos Awareness training

(preferred but not essential) Training will be given. Excellent teamwork skills and a positive, can-do attitude. Commitment to high standards of workmanship and site safety.
