Role Summary



The Roofer is responsible for carrying out roofing repairs, maintenance, and installations across residential properties managed by the Housing Association. The role ensures that all roofing works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, providing safe and secure homes for tenants.

Key Responsibilities



Carry out planned, reactive, and emergency roofing repairs on Housing Association properties. Install, repair, and maintain various roofing systems, including pitched, flat, tiled, slate, felt, and membrane roofs. Conduct roof inspections and identify defects, water ingress, structural issues, or health & safety risks. Complete flashing, pointing, guttering, fascia, soffit, and rainwater goods repairs. Replace broken tiles, slates, felt coverings, and roofing sheets as required. Ensure all work is compliant with building regulations, safety legislation, and organisational standards. Provide accurate reports of work completed, materials used, and any further actions needed. Respond to tenant repair requests in a timely and professional manner. Work closely with the repairs, maintenance, and housing teams to deliver efficient service. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working condition. Follow company policies, safeguarding standards, and tenant care procedures at all times.

Skills & Qualifications



NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Roofing or equivalent trade qualification (preferred). Proven experience working as a roofer, ideally within social housing or residential maintenance. Knowledge of pitched and flat roofing systems. Understanding of health & safety rules, including working-at-height regulations. Ability to diagnose roofing faults and recommend appropriate solutions. Full UK driving licence (required). CSCS card (preferred).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 31,000.00-39,000.00 per year
