The Role - Room Co-ordinator (EYFS)
As Room Co-ordinator, you will lead a team within one of our vibrant EYFS rooms, ensuring that daily routines, activities, and learning experiences are of the highest standard. You will be responsible for guiding and mentoring staff, planning and delivering the EYFS curriculum, and ensuring that every child's individual needs are met in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment.
Main Responsibilities
Lead and motivate a team of practitioners within the toddler room and setting, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
Plan, implement, and review a creative curriculum in line with the EYFS framework, ensuring a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities.
Observe, assess, and record children's progress, using this information to inform future planning and share with parents and carers.
Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, health, safety, and well-being at all times.
Support the development of positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues.
Organise and lead regular team meetings, supporting professional development and best practice.
Promote inclusive practice and celebrate the diversity of our community.
Monitor and maintain resources, ensuring the learning environment is engaging, safe, and well organised.
Work closely with senior leaders and other room co-ordinators to share ideas, strategies, and drive continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Relevant Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years/Childcare (NNEB, CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
Minimum of two years' proven experience working within an EYFS setting.
Demonstrable understanding and application of the EYFS curriculum and its statutory requirements.
Experience of leading, mentoring, or supervising a team is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for developing young children's learning and development.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time and resources effectively.
