We're looking for an experienced and passionate
Room Leader
to lead one of our vibrant wraparound care settings in a local primary school. If you're organised, creative, and ready to take ownership of a rewarding leadership role, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
This part-time role is ideal for a qualified Level 2 or 3 Childcare Practitioner looking to lead a team and create a safe, fun, and enriching space for children before and after school. You'll oversee daily operations, plan and deliver engaging activities, and ensure the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operational Excellence
Represent Premier Education with professionalism, creativity, and care.
Deliver consistently high standards in line with Premier's values and expectations.
Foster a positive team culture by leading with integrity, flexibility, and initiative.
Ensure all environments meet health and safety standards, including daily risk assessments.
Follow safeguarding, emergency, and confidentiality procedures at all times.
Child Development & Learning
Understand children's individual learning journeys and support their development.
Observe and track progress, report to families, and seek external support when needed.
Follow EYFS guidelines and implement effective planning and assessment practices.
Act as a key person to a group of children, ensuring their wellbeing and development.
Build strong partnerships with parents and carers.
Safeguarding & Welfare
Demonstrate excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
Understand the Prevent Duty and responsibilities under the Anti-terrorism & Security Act 2015.
Follow Premier's behaviour policies and promote a positive, respectful culture.
Daily Care & Environment
Supervise indoor/outdoor activities and mealtimes, prioritising health, safety, and wellbeing.
Maintain hygiene and cleanliness across all childcare areas.
Facilitate self-service healthy snacks, promoting independence and good nutrition.
Planning & Activities
Design and deliver engaging play and learning experiences in line with the EYFS and Premier's structured activity plans.
Support delivery of sports and physical activity through inclusive programming.
Teamwork & Communication
Build strong relationships with school staff, families, and colleagues.
Communicate effectively and attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
What We're Looking For
Qualified to Level 2 or 3 in Childcare (or working toward it).
Experience managing or leading within a childcare or school-based setting.
A proactive, supportive, and team-oriented approach.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
A flexible and dependable attitude with a passion for helping children thrive.
Knowledge of safeguarding, EYFS, and behaviour management practices.
