Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Room Leader for our Baby Room to provide exceptional care and education to infants and toddlers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, with the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role requires effective communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a commitment to fostering the developmental needs of each child.
Main Responsibilities
Provide a high quality teaching and learning environment that stimulates and supports children
Contribute to the monitoring, recording and assessment of the children's progress.
Ensure the welfare of all children in the preschool room, maintaining high standards of health, hygiene and safety practices.
Support children's holistic development, including social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills.
Give support to pupils, individually or in groups so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.
Be a Key Worker, carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.
Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and personal development.
Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of appropriate programmes of activity for the children in collaboration with the Nursery Manager and other colleagues.
Keep up to date with current publications and good practice in the EYFS curriculum and take an active part in the planning and delivery of the curriculum.
Provide an attractive and stimulating range of equipment, resources, activities and displays relevant to the age and needs of the children.
Lead, motivate and develop a small team of early years practitioners within the pre-school room. Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure the team delivers outstanding care and education.
Establish positive relationships with parents and carers and communicate effectively about children's progress, activities and any concerns.
Communicate knowledge and understanding of children to other school staff so that informed decision making can be made on any specific interventions and provisions.
Maintain accurate records, including children's development profiles, attendance registers and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and internal policies.
Provide cover across the nursery as appropriate.
