Little Legends is an independent, family run 41 place nursery based in South Reddish, Stockport. We are looking to recruit an experienced practitioner to fill the role of Room Leader within our established nursery team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years post qualifying experience and experience of managing their own key group of children. Previous experience as a senior practitioners or a room leader would be ideal or those looking for career progression opportunities, would also be considered for this role.

At Little Legends Nursery, as a team we are driven by an ambition to provide families and children with the highest quality of childcare and early years education. We are therefore, looking for an inspirational Room Leader, who is passionate, professional and confident in their role and abilities.

As Room Leader you would be supporting the Nursery Manager by leading the practice and the day-to-day overall running of the toddler room, max 12 children, 2-3 year age group. Helping to continuously develop the quality of the nursery by implementing targets off the nursery development plan and helping to support the development of the team via mentoring junior members of the team. You will be responsible for planning, tracking and monitoring childrens development within your room and key group.

To be successful in this role you must be a friendly, caring and emotionally warm practitioner. You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly form positive relationships with children, parents, employees, other agencies and professionals. In addition, you must be knowledgeable of the requirements of the early years sector, possessing a detailed understanding of the EYFS, 'Learning and Development', 'Assessment' and 'Safeguarding' requirements and also have good working knowledge of the care and education standards expected by OFSTED.

To be considered for the role applicants must have a Level 3 Early Years Qualification, and at least two years of post qualified experience. Applicants will ideally have previous experience within a leadership role in a nursery setting, higher level qualifications of degree level or Early Years Teacher, or be a seasoned and experienced qualified level 3 practitioner.

Essential



NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or above.

Current First Aid Certificate.

Experience in a similar role or in an environment working closely with children.

Emotional warmth.

Excellent communication skills.

A detailed understanding of the EYFS

Team Player.

Health & Safety awareness.

Self-Motivated.

Able to work under own initiative.

Desirable



Higher level qualifications, Level 6 (full and relevant to Early Years) Qualified Early Years Teacher, Early Years Professional.

Experience in safeguarding children, ideally with Designated Safeguarding Lead training.

Experience in supporting children and families with additional needs.

Current food hygiene certificate.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.13 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
