18-month Rotating Equine Internship at the Equine Hospital, R(D)SVS, University of Edinburgh.

The Opportunity:

We are recruiting for two 18-month Rotating Equine Interns at Dick Vet Equine Hospital. The first post commencing October 2023 and the second in January 2024.

Our internship programme provides clinical training and experience in all aspects of equine veterinary diagnosis and care. Running a rota of four interns, this programme allows rotation through our equine medicine, soft tissue, and orthopaedic surgery and anaesthesia services in the equine hospital; with exposure to a wide range of speciality disciplines, including dentistry, diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology and sports medicine. The hospital boasts an impressive range of diagnostic equipment and facilities and the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of experienced Board specialised clinicians, residents, interns, nurses and support staff.

Opportunities are available for research and publication with access to a wide range of university courses. This post will provide significant clinical exposure and ideal preparation for those seeking to enter a residency program, as well as those wishing to return to practice with a broad range of skills.

The hospital is located on the beautiful Easter Bush Campus, sitting at the foot of the iconic Pentland Hills, and only a ten minute commute from Edinburgh city centre.
