Reporting to the Regional Rotating Machinery Manager


As the principal rotating machinery engineering specialist for the Scotland and North (S&N) region's Delivery Engineering - Rotating Machinery Team, you'll provide subject matter expertise, to the OPEX and CAPEX Programmes within the Region.


Focusing on Asset Risk Management you will ensure the Safe, Reliable and Efficient operation of our fleet of:


Gas Generators: GE LM2500+DLE, Siemens Avon 1533-75G, Siemens RB211-22 and Siemens SGT400+DLE


Power Turbines: Siemens Vectra, Nuovo Pignone HS-PT25, GEC EAS1-33 and GEC ERB1-22


Compressors: Siemens PDI 70, Siemens STC/SV, Siemens RF1BB-36, Nuovo Pignone NP802, Nuovo Pigone NP603 and Siemens (Delaval) PV30


Diesel Generators: Various


And their auxiliary systems.

What You'll be doing

Operate as the S&N Region's Principal Rotating Machinery focal point. Acting as a vital technical link between site operations, maintenance teams, regional projects, major programmes and central engineering. Regional Production, Availability and Commercial improvement through continuous data driven assessment and the adoption of data supported maintenance and operational programmes. Manage day-to-day Rotating Machinery engineering and operational support Support trouble shooting and fault diagnosis of complex rotating machinery issues. Oversee fleet management activities, including OEM service bulletins, oil sampling, borescope inspection, engine logbooks and spares support. Specify Inspection and Test activities. Assess Inspection and Test results. Plan and Action appropriate mitigation measures. Act as the Primary Point of Contact for Rotating Machinery for operations support, collaborating with OEM's and ISPs. Work closely with site teams and central engineering to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality interventions. Lead investigations into equipment failures and reliability issues, recommending long-term improvements. Oversee condition monitoring, vibration analysis and performance trending Technical Lead major rotating machinery projects, (overhauls, rewheeling, etc) Support technical and commercial development of CAPEX and OPEN business justification. Contribute to Rotating Machinery change planning. Provide technical assurance and ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulations and best practices. Operate within: The UK Regulatory Framework; National Gas Standard Policies, Process and Procedures; adopted Industry Standards and Best Practice. Champion continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing across the rotating machinery discipline. Act as a technical mentor to junior engineers and provide leadership within the corrosion discipline. Capture lessons learned, best practice, and innovation to drive rotating machinery efficiencies.

Key Requirements and Experience

Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline. Chartered Engineer with a relevant professional body (e.g. IMechE) or deep corresponding technical experience. Solid understanding of heavy-duty rotating machinery - maintenance, reliability and performance engineering. Strong technical knowledge of Natural Gas and / or CO2 compression Experience supporting live operational sites and outage execution. Experience applying relevant policies, procedures, and resolving technical issues Ability to interpret technical documentation, condition monitoring data and OEM Guidance. Capable of writing or supporting technical scopes for rotating equipment inspection, service and overhauls Qualifications in auditing, IOSH, NEBOSH, IAM, and CDM - desirable Knowledge of design, safety, health, environment, and quality policies and procedures - desirable Expertise in design, construction, operation, and maintenance of Gas Transmission assets - desirable Understanding of ISO9001 and how quality management systems support successful project delivery - desirable Familiarity with T/PM/G35 processes including design approval, commissioning, and asset acceptance - desirable Understanding of CDM Regulations - desirable Full UK driving licence
