Job summary
The MT Supervisor is an integral part of the MT teams which operates within a small team at BRNC, the MT Supervisor is accountable to the Transport Manager and also undertakes driving duties as necessary.
This post is also subject to an initial medical check, reviewed every five years and annual eye testing.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description
The supervisor, operates an efficient and effective MT office, standing in for the MT manager on a temporary basis when necessary. They assist in the control the day to day operation of MT in the Unit, to ensure that all legitimate transport requests are satisfied, making most efficient use of resources.
In addition, controls the day to day operation of the MT vehicle fleet ensuring that all legitimate transport requests are satisfied, making the most efficient use of resources available and tasks and supervise all drivers with their daily duties, taking into account the legally mandated driver's hours and the working time directive to ensure legal compliance.
In the main, but not limited to
Liaise with Contractor staff as authorised within Area of responsibility
Authorised to organise driver's day to day operation
Liaise with Babcock Phoenix and Lease Providers on serviceability of White Fleet vehicles.
Deputise for Transport Manager at Establishment meetings as required.
Operation and control of Unit Pool Car Fleet for short-lease journeys for Service and MOD civilian personnel
Operate the system for the reporting and processing of vehicle faults and breakdowns.
Liaise with civilian agencies in conjunction with the repair and Maintenance of Service vehicles
Carry out licence checks using the ADMIN 1 position on MYdrive to ensure licence compliance. Ensure drivers fully understand drivers standing orders and operate within them
Ensure drivers are correctly briefed and have sufficient information to complete allocated tasks.
Coordinate transport bookings and assets to ensure efficient utilisation, economies of scale and cost effectiveness.
Ensure routine administration and documentation is completed
The issue and authorisation of Unit Fuel Agency Cards.
Operation and control of Unit Pool Car Fleet for short-lease journeys for Service and MOD civilian personnel

BRNC also offers an impressive range of on-site facilities including use of our gymnasium, tennis courts, and other sporting facilities. Onsite there is a cafe, shop and plenty of free, secure, onsite car parking spaces.
This role is a hands on face to face role, not suitable for hybrid working. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
