Cawingredients is a leading manufacturer in the soft drinks industry, supplying a high volume of soft drinks principally to the UK markets.

As part of this role you will be working under the direction of the Robot Manager, you will need to be an engaging, enthusiastic, fast learner, and capable of carrying out counterbalance fork-lift duties, ideally with a mechanical or engineering background (although not essential).

As a Team Leader within the mixing department, you may be required to perform other duties within our Warehouse when needed.

Main Purpose



To contribute to the Company business plan by maximising the efficiency and performance of the people and equipment within the production function. To operate key pieces of equipment/line when required and assist with the management of an allocated shift team. To lead by example, with self-motivation, supporting the Supervisor to achieve Key Performance Targets, maximising all available resources to ensure the production plan is achieved. To train new personnel on practices of operating, whilst maintaining and supporting continuous development amongst the team. The overall aim is to achieve a multi-skilled workforce amongst the shift. To ensure all production recording is done in a timely and accurate manner. Duties & Responsibilities



To ensure that all company and departmental regulations and guidelines are rigorously adhered to at all times by all team members, e.g. health and safety, hygiene, dress code, plus all other relevant company policies. Act as the central point of communication on shift, directing staff to the shift priorities as agreed with the RTD Supervisor. To strive to continuously improve the performance of the team by supporting members to achieve set objectives (i.e. appraisal objectives), within the set timescales. Stand in for RTD Supervisor to oversee the running of the lines, in a short term absence. Support the Supervisor in driving output and line efficiencies to and beyond targets set by maximising the potential of the people, plant and time available. To be pro-active and continuously seek to improve equipment, process, people methods and procedures, whilst encouraging direct colleagues to do the same. To be a self motivated leader who has the desire and passion to succeed in achieving personal, departmental and business goals. To ensure individuals on shift are fully compliant with Health and Safety standards, rules and procedures throughout the operation. Play an active part in influencing positive team spirit. Provide relevant and timely feedback to both Management and the team on performance and job related requirements. Support a timely and relevant Shift handover. Ensuring all information is passed onto the next shift Team Leader and RTD supervisor. Participate in meetings when necessary. Confer with other shift Supervisors and Team Leaders to coordinate activities when required. Interpret company policies and procedures to members of the team, highlighting updates when necessary. Liaise with other relevant management teams across the business when required. Coordinate cleaning activities to ensure all personnel take responsibilities and take an active part on a regular basis. Support all requirements for Audit and Customer Visits.
Ideally we need applicants to have previously worked in a manufacturing environment, as candidates will need to evidence previous experience of basic mechanical aptitude in operating production equipment. This role will be based on our site in Leeming Bar in North Yorkshire. The normal working hours would be 2,166 per annum. Rotas are notified in advance. You will be working a variation to the four on four off twelve hour shift pattern working both day and night shifts as directed.
