The RTT Validator role is responsible for proactively managing, monitoring and validating clinical pathways. The role ensures that patients waiting for treatment on an 18-week RTT pathway are validated and their treatment pathways are expedited in line with service and service expectations. The post holder manages the data held in the Patient Tracking List (PTL), ensuring it is accurate and up to date. They also ensure that all potential breaches of the target are escalated and managed appropriately by working closely with administrative teams withing the Trust.
Interpret the information from medical records, clinical letters and other Trust systems including CareFlow, Fusion and Dragon Medical Workflow Manager that contain patient information and clinical details to make a judgement on the true situation of the patients 18 RTT Pathway.
Validate, correct and update the patients 18-week RTT Pathway in CareFlow via the EPR and/or other areas of functionality using advanced functionality specific to the role-based access of an RTT Validator.
Analyse and make informed decisions regarding patient pathways and activities from viewing electronic clinical notes and medical record notes.
Understand Microsoft Excel to a higher level to be able to interpret reports that are provided to determine the themes of patient data validations, often within or creating Pivot tables.
Identify, amend and investigate inaccuracies within CareFlow on any part of the patient's pathway and/or waiting times and be able to assess when and where it is necessary to raise queries that require a higher level of validation.
Acquire a high level of expertise in 18-week RTT rules and guidance and the Trust's Access Policy.
Acquire and maintain knowledge within the three divisions of Surgery, Medicine and Women's & Children's Services.
