Overview of the role


We are seeking a Safeguarding Associate to join our Safeguarding Team in an entry-level or early-career capacity. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone at the start of their career who is keen to build a strong foundation in financial operations, regulation, and FinTech.

The Safeguarding Associate will support the monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting of safeguarded client funds, helping to ensure client money is protected and handled in line with regulatory requirements. You will receive training and ongoing support to develop your understanding of safeguarding regulations, including upcoming changes such as CASS 15.

You will work closely with teams across the business -- including Treasury, Settlements, Client Support, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Regulatory Compliance -- gaining broad exposure to how a regulated financial services firm operates.

Key Responsibilities





Client Money Reconciliation & MonitoringSupport intra-day reconciliations of safeguarded client accounts Compare balances held with safeguarding institutions against internal client money records Assist in identifying, investigating, and escalating reconciliation differences
Safeguarding Reporting & ControlsHelp produce daily safeguarding reports Flag potential safeguarding incidents promptly and escalate them to senior team members Support the monitoring of client funds in line with applicable safeguarding regulations
Operational SupportAssist with transferring funds between internal accounts to maintain safeguarding compliance Support the accurate allocation of client money to relevant parties Liaise with banking partners to assist with reconciliation and safeguarding activities
Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementWork with Product and Engineering teams to help investigate safeguarding issues arising from system or process changes Support improvements to safeguarding processes and controls Maintain and update the Safeguarding Resolution Pack in line with internal policies and regulatory expectations


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





Experience in bank account reconciliation (preferred) Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience (preferred) Basic understanding of safeguarding regulations (preferred) Strong attention to detail with an analytical and investigative mindset Keen interest in the FinTech industry and a desire to learn and grow within the field. Strong problem-solving skills and written communication Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and Microsoft Teams Collaborative approach to working with others, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive working environment Willingness to travel to London on a monthly basis Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A true team player with a winning mentality and strong work ethic committed to continuous improvement and high performance. Adaptable, tenacious and flexible who can perform under pressure.
