Salisbury Medical Practice is looking to recruit a caring, reliable, flexible and motivated individual to fill the position of Safeguarding Lead (Maternity Cover) at our well-established Medical Practice.



The successful candidate will have previous experience in handling complex and sensitive safeguarding information within a healthcare environment and will have excellent organisational and communications skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to liaise with staff at all levels and work effectively as part of a team but also be able to work independently using own initiative. A strong commitment to personal and professional development is essential for this role.

The Safeguarding Lead will be responsible for a variety of duties such as dealing with general safeguarding issues and concerns, providing advice and support to staff, deliver in-house safeguarding training and liaising with the local Authority and a range of other agencies. We are looking for a candidate who holds a professional health or social care related qualification (e.g. Social Worker, Health Visitor, Midwife, School Nurse, Nurse, Doctor etc.) and is registered with a professional body (e.g. NMC, GMC, HCPC etc.)

This is a fixed 12-month position for 25 to 30 hours per week working ideally across Monday to Friday, however we are flexible for the right candidate. The salary is 39,753 - 44,563 FTE (full time equivalent) which is dependent on experience and knowledge.

We offer 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with the bank holidays as an addition and the chance to join or continue in the NHS Pension Scheme.
