At Sheaf Training Centre, we specialise in providing high-quality education and support to Post-16 learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled

Safeguarding Lead

to ensure our learners remain safe, supported, and empowered to thrive in education and beyond.



As our Safeguarding Lead, you will take a central role in overseeing and leading safeguarding and child protection (including online safety) across our provision. You'll manage internal and external safeguarding referrals, liaise with external agencies, and offer expert guidance to staff on student welfare. You'll also line-manage our Educational Support Workers, promoting a safe, inclusive, and responsive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities:




Lead on all safeguarding, child protection, and welfare matters within the centre Maintain accurate safeguarding records using CPOMS and escalate incidents as appropriate Provide on-site pastoral and welfare support to learners with a wide range of needs Collaborate with external safeguarding bodies and local agencies Ensure the safeguarding team and wider staff are trained and informed Recruit, manage, and develop Educational Support Workers to deliver effective student support Contribute to the centre's safeguarding policies and procedures in line with current statutory guidance

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.



If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
