Job Description

The Safeguarding Nurse will work as a dynamic member of the safeguarding team to ensure a high-quality safeguarding service is delivered to all Lakeside Healthcare (LH) staff, patients and across the Primary Care Network (PCN) Practices. The individual Safeguarding Nurse will lead multi-disciplinary meetings (MDTs) across the LHG and for PCN practices, planning and assessing appropriate care for all children and families. They will work alongside safeguarding partners within Northamptonshire, Cambridge and Peterborough, Lincolnshire and Rutland to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and adults. This will include providing advice, support and relevant information to a multitude of professionals, enabling the safeguarding team to assess the most appropriate plan of action for each individual case reviewed.

The Safeguarding Nurse will deputise for the Head of Safeguarding, when required, to ensure the safeguarding team continue to deliver all the key objectives, statutory functions and CQC requirements in respect of LH and PCN practices. The safeguarding Nurse will be responsible for supporting all Doctors and Nurses to complete their statutory duty within the safeguarding arena. The safeguarding Nurse will develop and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues.
