Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship

. You will gain hands-on experience in workplace safety, environmental management, and quality processes across a wide range of electrical, mechanical and facilities engineering activities. This role allows you to earn while you learn, develop practical skills, support real projects, and play a key part in promoting safe working practices throughout the business.

Hours



Full-time - 40 hours per week


Monday to Friday,

8:00am-4:30pm

(30-minute lunch break)

Work What you'll do at work Health & Safety



Support staff safety training and maintain training records/matrices. Assist with arranging training such as Asbestos, Working at Height, IPAF, PASMA, First Aid, and Confined Space. Help prepare Construction Phase Plans and RAMS and ensure staff understand and sign them. Conduct toolbox talks, fire drills and routine site inspections. Carry out daily checks on plant, ladders, harnesses, MEWPs and employee tools (including

PAT testing

). Report near misses and accidents and support investigations. Participate in internal HSE meetings with senior staff.

Contractors



Issue and maintain contractor HSE questionnaires. Check insurance, qualifications and RAMS. Monitor PPE compliance and support toolbox talks where needed.

PPE & Uniform



Source and issue PPE and uniforms. Maintain PPE records and stock levels. Authorise PPE requests and ensure proper use and storage.

Quality (ISO 9001)



Support quarterly audits, management meetings and quality checks. Assist in updating quality procedures and policies. Help close out actions from audits and reviews.

Environmental (ISO 14001)



Support environmental policy maintenance and compliance. Help monitor environmental performance and conduct monthly internal audits. Assist with environmental management reviews.

Fleet



Assist with vehicle registrations, fuel cards, inspections, servicing, repairs and tracker updates. Help maintain driving licence and penalty point records.

Safety Standards Compliance



Assist with maintaining registrations including Safe Contractor, CHAS, Constructionline and Building Safety Act compliance.

General & Additional Duties



Support staff inductions, health questionnaires and welfare processes. Assist with PQQs, client documentation and external safety audits. Help maintain BAFE SP203 compliance, competency audits and corrective action records.

Course:

Safety, Health and Environment Technician (Level 3)

Training will be workplace-based and supported remotely by High Ridge Training through online sessions, monthly one-to-one reviews, regular assignments and a structured development plan aligned to the apprenticeship standard.
