Alplas is a long established Point of Sale accessory and display company working in the busy retail and display industry sectors. As a designer, manufacturer and distributor of products we are well placed in a challenging business world.

We are looking for a capable Sales professional with sales experience to join our friendly team in Basildon. Effective communication skills are essential. You will need to demonstrate initiative and how you work well in a team.

The successful candidate must be confident in engaging and influencing customers from one-time purchases to sales account servicing. You will take a key role in handling sometimes complex or large sales enquiries. You will need to gather intelligence on competitors regarding their products and market prices and analyse to win that business. This is primarily an office based role but may involve customer visits from time to time. In addition, you will look after a small portfolio of clients and work to retain and develop the business. You will also have dealings/negotiations with various suppliers both UK and internationally.

Key skills and experience required:

Experience in a sales & customer service role

Ability to multitask responsibilities

Strong written and verbal communication

Good attention to detail and organisational skills

Proven record of meeting/exceeding targets

Familiar with CRM software / Word / Excel

Experience of communicating via Live Chat / Teams is desirable

Proven negotiation skills / Good people skills

Ability to up sell/cross sell and gain extra profit

Your success will be measured on meeting/exceeding targets, using CRM software to log quotes/leads to assist in these achievements.

Working hours 8.45am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday with 1 hour lunch break. Public holidays and 23 days annual holiday. Alplas normally closes between Christmas and the New Year offering a further 3 days holiday.
