We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Sales and Estimating Assistant to join our growing team. In this vital role, you will support the sales department by preparing accurate project estimates, managing quote documents, and assisting with client communications. Your proactive approach will help streamline project proposals, ensure precise costing, and contribute to winning new business opportunities. This is a permanent position offering opportunities for training, professional growth and career progression into management for the right person. Minimum 30 + per week Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of enquiries using a combination of spreadsheets, Word documents, and Buildertrend (our Sales Leads & Project Management software)
Liaise with clients to request project details and manage expectations throughout the enquiry process
Assist in preparing detailed construction estimates by analysing project plans, specifications, and scope of work
Manage quote documents, including reviewing contracts, scope of work, and technical drawings
Maintain organised records of all estimating activities, quote submissions, and client correspondence for future reference.
Follow up on enquiries, update the sales pipeline, and prepare associated reports
Convert new orders and prepare all necessary documentation for smooth handovers to production
Manage, prepare, and send material samples for both the Sales and Operations teams
Request costings and information from suppliers and the finance department to ensure accurate quotations
Liaise with other internal departments to gather up-to-date costs, fulfil orders, and promote sales opportunities
Maintain structured filing systems and general sales administration tasks
Answer incoming telephone calls and provide professional customer support
Occasional client visits where appropriate
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process enhancements for estimating accuracy and efficiency.
