Job Description

Established in 2018, Pools Surplus Stores is an independent retailer specialising in Army Surplus, Outdoor Clothing & Equipment, Tactical Clothing & Equipment, Airsoft, Hunting, Air Rifles and Workwear.

We require a Sales Assistant to join our Hartlepool store team on a temporary basis, with a permanent contract possible for the right candidate.

This role has a minimum of 16hrs per week across two days (set by a rota in advance), with more hours available when holiday cover is required or in busier periods.

Due to the age restricted nature of some of products, candidates must be aged 18+.

Role Overview:



Working with us, you'll help ensure our customers have the best possible experience, whether visiting our store in person or ordering online through one of our sales platforms.

Sales



Drive sales and ensure any targets are met or exceeded Maximise sales through offering non-stock products for next day collection Provide alternatives and add on sales at every possible opportunity Adhere to cash handling procedures at all times

Customer Service



Greet all customers in a warm and friendly manner, whether in-store or via phone/email. Ensure our customers receive the best possible service Follow up all product enquires in a timely manner

Visual Merchandising



Keep stock clean and presentable at all times Replenish stock levels where needed, ensuring every size is out on the shop floor. Help keep up high standards for maintenance of products and displays

Stock Processing



Help process new items for sale, duties to include: Photographing and measuring products Writing product descriptions Uploading new products to website

Picking/Packing



Ensure online orders are well packed and dispatched on time Maintain good attention to detail, minimising losses through double checking order details Keep packing area well stocked and organised

General



Maintain good standards of organisation in the stockroom Deputise for other staff/carry out additional duties as required

Role Requirements:



Good attention to detail Excellent communication Confident and outgoing with customers Flexibility to work weekday and weekend shifts Good product knowledge/interest in our products (ideally) Excellent IT skills
