We are seeking a reliable and dedicated person to join our team.
The successful candidates responsibility's will include customer service, handling money, cutting and preparing fish to our customers requirements, making orders for deliver, occasionally transporting goods from our suppliers or to our customers.
This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting as part of the daily duties.
Additionally when our van driver is on annual leave the candidate may be required to take on more van related work.
This role is over four shifts per week at 8 to 10 hours per shift.
Duties
Preparing orders for deliver.
Ensure proper handling and storage of seafood to maintain freshness and quality.
Assist customers with selecting and purchasing seafood products.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the fish market area.
Monitor inventory levels and place orders for replenishment as needed.
Operate a delivery van to transport goods efficiently and safely.
Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling of products.
Navigate routes using GPS or maps to ensure timely deliveries.
Communicate effectively with shop staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and delivery confirmations.
Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
Requirements
Previous experience as a delivery driver or van driver is preferred but not require.
Experience with customer service is preferred
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job.
Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
A valid driving licence.
Familiarity with warehouse operations is advantageous.
Must be punctual, organised, and able to work independently.
A good understanding of road safety regulations and practices.
