We're looking for a proactive

Sales & Contracts Manager

to take ownership of our contracting division, driving new business, managing client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered profitably and to the highest standard.

The Role



The Sales & Contracts Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the contracting side of the business, from winning work to successful delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role combining business development, contract management, and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities



Sales & Business Development

Generate new business opportunities in Sussex and the surrounding area. Build and maintain relationships with developers, builders, councils, and private clients. Respond to tenders, prepare quotes, and negotiate contracts. Grow the contracting order book in line with company targets.

Contract & Project Management

Manage contracts from award through to completion. Oversee scheduling of plant, labour, and subcontractors. Ensure jobs are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification. Monitor contract performance and resolve issues quickly.

Commercial Management

Work closely with directors to forecast revenue and profitability. Track job costs, variations, and client invoicing. Ensure compliance with health & safety, insurance, and accreditation requirements.

Leadership & Teamwork

Act as the main point of contact for contracting staff, subcontractors, and clients. Support and develop site supervisors and operatives. Contribute to the overall growth and reputation of PHB Contractors.

Skills & Experience



Proven track record in

sales and/or contract management

within construction, groundworks, or plant hire. Strong knowledge of construction methods, contract law, and project delivery. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Commercially astute with experience in pricing, margin control, and forecasting. Organised and able to manage multiple projects at once. IT literate (MS Office, project management software, estimating tools). Full UK driving licence.

Pay: 55,000.00-65,000.00 per year
