Your primary responsibility is rent / sell apartments in our Sundew Court our new build Retirement Community in Newport using 'Prospect Centered Selling'. For the first 12 months the role is based in our Sales Cabin at the Mere Park Garden Centre Newport, before it moves into the community sales office. The role requires the applicant to generate leads and to engage with prospective residents (and their adult children) with empathy, understanding, and patience. It requires charisma, emotional intelligence, resilience and creativity. Throughout 2025, substantial time will be dedicated to community outreach work. The job entails a degree of lone working in the early stages but the intention is to bring on another sales counsellor before the end of 2025.
You will report directly to the Sales and Marketing Director.
To maintain, grow and work a high quality lead database on our CRM system
To partner and collaborate with the Mere Park Garden Centre team
To drive Community Outreach work to generate leads and advocates
To build strong relationships with prospects and their families
To help 'sell' units on a rental and for sale basis
To Conduct Tours of the community when it opens in the Summer of 2026
To carry out Home Visits with prospects
Communicate all sales related activities to the Sales and Marketing Director as required
Ensure that best practice guidelines are always followed in line with the Associated Retirement Communities Operators (ARCO) Code
Work with local 3rd parties such as Estate Agents, financial advisors etc.
Whilst sales experience is beneficial this role is primarily focused on communication and people skills, so, direct property sales experience is not a requirement. Any background in counseling (of any type) is desirable.
You must be willing to learn prospect centered selling and to use our CRM
You must enjoy talking to / being with Seniors
You must be comfortable with some public speaking and presenting
You must be willing to work with a degree of flexibility
You must have exceptional communication skills and a professional calm demeanor
You must have high levels of integrity and strong ethical values
You must be able to work to targets
You must be comfortable working alone but also as part of a team
You must have a full driving license
30-35 basic per annum, based on experience
Commission related pay OTE 45-50per annum.
