This structured pathway ensures you build the capability and confidence needed to advance your career and transition into a professional Finance Broker role.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Sales Development Representative at Charles & Dean, your role will focus on the critical first stages of the client journey - driving engagement, activating new accounts, and creating opportunities for long-term relationships. Your responsibilities will include:
Initial Engagement: Making first contact with prospective and existing customers to understand their requirements, nurture the lead, and introduce the services we provide.
Account Activation: Guiding prospects through the onboarding process, ensuring accounts are activated and prepared for future finance opportunities.
Opportunity Creation: Identifying client needs and generating qualified opportunities for our Finance Specialists to develop further.
Relationship Building: Establishing rapport with clients early on to create trust and position Charles & Dean as their long-term finance partner.
CRM & Data Management: Maintaining accurate client records to ensure smooth handovers and support ongoing relationship management.
Collaboration: Working alongside Finance Specialists and wider teams to ensure opportunities are maximised and clients receive a seamless experience.
The Charles & Dean Finance Broker Training Programme
Our Finance Broker Training Programme has been recognised within the industry as a standout development pathway, setting the benchmark for broker training. It is structured into three core phases, each designed to develop your skills step by step and prepare you for full qualification as a Finance Broker:
Phase 1: Foundations
Months 1-3
Outbound engagement and structured learning and development
Core sales skills, product knowledge, compliance fundamentals, CRM and data management, and credit basics
End-to-end deal handling, role-play scenarios, compliance exam, and a formal pass/fail decision
At the end of this programme, successful candidates will progress into the role of Finance Broker, equipped with the technical knowledge, confidence, and real-world experience to excel in the industry. As a Finance Broker at Charles & Dean, you will consistently be supported by leadership and more senior members of the team to ensure a smooth transition into the broking role.

Whilst no prior industry experience is required, previous experience in sales, broking or recruitment may prove advantageous.
