Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in preparing accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are considered. This position requires strong mathematical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and have a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Review project specifications and drawings to understand the scope of work. Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations. Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for estimates. Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. Analyse historical data to inform future estimates and improve accuracy. Present estimates to management and assist in decision-making processes. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred. Strong mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making. Relevant qualifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field would be advantageous.
