Overview


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Venue Manager to oversee our Sales Team and our flagship site in Central London.

The Mermaid is a leading Business and Conference centre and event space in the City of London.

We cater as a all in one space for Corporates whether its a launch or Conference or Christmas Event, with six unique spaces for events including a state-of-the-art Auditorium that seats 600!

The Role



This role is all about driving the venue forward, elevating the sales and planning team, and shaping them into a group of sales superstars who consistently exceed expectations.

Drive a proactive and reactive sales strategy, ensuring a steady pipeline of high value events. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales professionals, turning them into future sales superstars. Be hands on in securing business, getting potential clients into the venue, and converting leads into high value bookings. Know how to assess which enquiries are worth pursuing and which will not deliver value, Maintain pace in a fast moving sales environment, thriving in an energetic and dynamic setting. Use data and CRM insights to refine strategies, but if admin is not your strong suit, build a support system to ensure efficiency. Work closely with marketing to drive awareness and attract high quality corporate clients. Be a dynamic networker, representing the venue and always uncovering new opportunities.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for the achievement of all sales targets Create and execute a sales plan defining targets and objectives Assist with achieving overall sales and business targets by developing initiatives To attend networking events raising the profile of the business Be an active participant in all sales & marketing meetings with regular updates To inspire and lead your team, ensuring they have all the skills necessary to deliver Produce a weekly activity report highlighting all successes to HoC Aid in the delivery of regular Open day and showcase events, ensuring attendance of key clients Represent the business at industry events

What we are looking for?



We are looking for someone with a Business Development soul but the full skill set to manage and grow a sales team whilst continuing a successful sales operation. Ideally someone from a Hotel/ Members Club/ Unique Independent Space background.

Someone who thrives in an environment where you can combine entrepreneurial thinking with structured sales processes.

The ideal candidate will have: A proven track record of converting leads and driving revenue in a high value events or hospitality setting.

Experience in proactive and reactive sales, with a strong ability to get potential clients on site and close deals.

Leadership experience. You know how to drive and develop a team to exceed targets
. A balance of commercial instinct and data driven decision making

.



A strategic mindset, with the ambition and capability to grow into a future Commercial Director role. The ability to work at pace, making quick but informed decisions to keep momentum high. A strong understanding of value based selling
Reporting into: General Manager/ Ops Director

Reporting into you: 3-4 Sales Execs

Mon -Fri Role based on Site ( Weekend and Eve flexibility depending on events)

55,000- 65000 depending on experience

Potential Bonus potential of around 15% of Salary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 55,000.00-65,000.00 per year
