Balmers GM seeks a full-time Sales Ledger & Machinery Registration Administrator in Burnley, England, reporting to the Group Finance Manager. The role combines financial management of the sales ledger, customer account queries, and sales order processing with comprehensive responsibility for John Deere machinery registration, warranty administration, and compliance documentation. Key duties include issuing statements, chasing debts, invoicing, managing customer and machine profiles, coordinating registrations and logbook management, and supporting sales representatives. Candidates should have strong sales ledger experience, organizational skills, familiarity with machinery sales, and proficiency in registration systems and professional communication.

Role Overview



This role blends meticulous financial control with machinery registration and customer service. The successful candidate will oversee the sales ledger process, resolve account queries, and manage end-to-end registration and warranty activities for John Deere machinery. The position demands precision, accountability, and confidence in managing complex documentation and customer-facing communications.

Key Responsibilities



Sales Ledger & Finance Tasks



Issue customer statements bi-monthly and chase aged debt professionally Address account and cash customer queries swiftly and thoroughly Generate and send invoices for wholegoods, parts, and machinery sold abroad Maintain documentation accuracy for financial submissions and inspections Send financial documents and invoices to JDF as required Create new customer accounts following successful credit checks Manage commission sheets and maintain pricing spreadsheets for new stock

Sales Order Processing & Customer Service



Input sales orders into the system for both stock and sold equipment Provide daily support to sales reps on account, registration, and logistics queries Draft customer letters upon machine purchases and coordinate delivery notes

John Deere Warranty & Registration Tasks



Register machines for warranty and complete full sales pack documentation Submit DCP registrations for commercial mowers and IRS claims for discounts Create customer and machine profiles as needed Road register machines manually and through RAV systems Request and manage NOVA reference numbers from John Deere for compliance Complete online forms to obtain certificates for machine registration Manage logbooks--registering, transferring, and trading with DVLA Send information to stores to generate vehicle number plates Handle pink card submissions for demo swaps or customer returns

Required Skills & Experience



Strong background in sales ledger or accounts receivable Excellent organizational skills with spreadsheet proficiency Familiarity with agricultural or machinery sales (preferred) Experience coordinating across departments and third-party suppliers (e.g., John Deere) Confidence in dealing with registration systems and compliance documentation Professional communication style in email, letters, and phone conversations Comfortable adapting systems and processes for workflow efficiency
Schedule:

Monday to Friday Saturday morning on a rota basis (1 in 6)
Work Location: In person
