Hitchin Technologies Ltd is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a growing and reputable small business that specialises in the design, fabrication, and installation of modular conveyor systems. Their offerings include 24?V roller, line?shaft, belt, and gravity conveyors, along with diverters, sorters, and sensor-integrated automation systems.
With a focus on tailored solutions, this company supports clients from initial consultation through to CAD layout design and final installation. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality, efficient systems that improve material handling, safety, and productivity across a variety of sectors including manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and target new business opportunities through cold outreach, networking, referrals, online platforms, and industry events.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with prospective and existing clients across manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing sectors.
Understand client needs and site specifications to propose customised conveyor solutions.
Prepare clear, tailored quotations and presentations in collaboration with the technical team.
Arrange and attend on-site surveys and consultations to gather information for design and quoting.
Work closely with fabrication and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, proposals, and sales activities.
Provide regular updates on sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance against targets.
Stay informed on trends in material handling and competitor activity, sharing insights with the team.
Follow up on completed installations to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for future work.
Requirements
Proven experience in sales, business development, or lead generation, ideally within B2B environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in-person and over the phone.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a pipeline and prioritise tasks effectively.
Punctual, reliable, and consistently committed to giving 100% effort.
Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do attitude and the drive to meet or exceed sales targets.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
Willingness to travel to client sites and the company's office in Corby as required.
Basic technical understanding is helpful; however, full support and training will be provided for the conveyor systems.
Familiarity with CRM systems or sales tracking tools is beneficial.
A full UK driving licence is essential due to travel requirements.
