Day Aggregates is one of the most successful suppliers of primary, recycled materials and Waste disposal to the construction industry in the South of England. The business operates 21 sites stretching from London and the home counties, and across to Gloucestershire and Dorset.

Main job role



We have a position for an experienced Sales Manager for the Waste Division. The position will be across our whole market area building on the relationships that already exist with many Demolition and Groundwork companies and with new customers brought in by the Sales Managers role.

The main depot locations of, Battersea, Purley, Crawley, Greenwich and Brentford will form the hub of our trading area, these depots will be developed in time to handle incoming waste streams.

Key Accountabilities and Objectives:



Working within a defined commercial structure reporting and working closely with the Head of Waste Division. Managing the commercial activities of the Muck Away business in line with agreed budgets and procedures. Initially, Battersea Non-Hazardous Rail Hub, priority for developing external market and muck disposal projects. Training external and internal teams in Muck Away contract requirements. Ensuring Environmental Compliance, including waste classifications, to ensure we comply with permits both internally and externally. Assisting in growing existing business and developing new opportunities in the muck away and Recycling industry. Working with Operations and Logistics to achieve high service levels. Gaining new business through pro-active marketing. Promoting the Day Group Values and its wider activities. Be customer focused always providing a high level of service of customers.

Other Duties:



Fulfil any other reasonable duties/requests as required by the Directors. Comply with all Company Policies.

Person Specification:



A proven experience working in the Muck away and Waste sector Experience in working within a team and hitting targets Excellent at communication and motivation Must have an enthusiastic, pro-active and positive attitude Ability to work under pressure Ability to use initiative

Working times/hours:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 07:00-17:30, including 30 minutes unpaid for lunch.

Salary dependent on experience.

Location:

Dependent on the candidate, Greenwich, Battersea, Purley and our Brentford office can accommodate the position. At times all these depots may require the candidate to attend meetings or training. Working from Home may be an option for part of the working week.

Package is:

annual salary plus the 9% employer pension contribution with Scottish Widows. You may be entitled to the discretionary Annual and Christmas bonuses. Annual leave of 29 days per year, including 8 Bank Holidays.
