Titanic Hotel Belfast opened its doors for business in September 2017. This luxury 119-bedroom hotel is being created in the former headquarters of Harland & Wolff, builders of Titanic, and will provide the perfect destination for anyone travelling to Titanic Quarter on business or for pleasure. The Harland & Wolff Drawing Offices, the earliest parts of these historic buildings, date from the 1880s and over the following 100 years played an important part in the design of many of the world\xe2\x80\x99s most famous ocean liners, the creation of the \xe2\x80\x98floating hotel\xe2\x80\x99 and influenced the design of many of today\xe2\x80\x99s cruise ships. Belfast is the birthplace of Titanic and this heritage hotel will be a sister to our award-winning Titanic Hotel Liverpool. The hotel is being restored and operated by Harcourt Developments; an international property development company with over 50 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience restoring and renovating listed heritage buildings.

About the Role

The primary objective is to be a pro-active (office based) member of the Sales and Marketing team, working towards meeting and exceeding the departmental targets.

Working in accordance with the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s Sales and Marketing plan (and under the instruction of the Director of Sales and Marketing), the role is responsible for supporting the Sales and Marketing team in co-ordinating all aspects of the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s pro-active sales and marketing team initiatives. The job incumbent should be active, proactive, analysing, and achieve results in every respect. All work will be in line with the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s guidelines and business plan, and Titanic Hotel Belfast\xe2\x80\x99s corporate guidelines and service concepts.

Main Responsibilities and Key Tasks

  • Assist the Director of Sales and Marketing with administrative tasks as and when required.
  • Analysing the daily arrivals list for sales leads, generating enquiries and/or sales appointments for the Director of Sales and Marketing and monitoring the results from these leads (leads to be logged on the Hotsoft sales module).
  • To work with Director of Sales and Marketing to identify, solicit and convert new opportunities in all market segments in accordance with the hotels yield management objectives.
  • To constantly recognise and develop new accounts from the local corporate markets.
  • Provide feedback on changing market conditions and trends in competition. This includes regular analysis of the competition.
  • To participate fully in all sales activities including telesales, sales calls, corporate entertaining, social events, promotions.
  • Responsible for design and print: managing artwork job lists, briefing designers, copywriting, proofing sourcing print quotes, prioritising tasks and ensuring the smooth process form brief to delivery of all marketing collateral.
  • Complete all required sales and marketing reports in a timely fashion.
  • Co-ordinating the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s marketing & PR activity including advert and press release copy writing with direction and support from the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Liaising with all other departments to ensure a \xe2\x80\x98sales culture\xe2\x80\x99 and generation of sales leads.
  • Ensuring all digital content and third-party sites are up to date and in line with brand standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships within the business and social community.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating all B2B and B2C communication at hotel level.
  • Responding to inbound sales and marketing enquiries and actioning as appropriate.
  • Conducting regular audits of all digital platforms to ensure up to date.
  • Maintaining and building the hotel databases.
  • Organising and co-ordinating of any internal and external Sales and Marketing events.
  • Conducting internal showrounds and attending hotel sales and marketing events as and when required.
  • Any other Sales and Marketing duties as instructed by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Dealing with all media requests and liaising with the relevant internal departments.
  • Co-ordinating of blogger activity, working to a target of a blogger per quarter.

  • To have a thorough knowledge of and adherence to the law regarding the following company regulations:
  • Fire regulations and procedures
  • Health and safety regulations
  • First aid procedures
  • To undertake special duties or work outside the normal daily/weekly routine but within the overall scope of the position at the request of the Maintenance Manager/Deputy General Manager/General Manager.
The ideal candidate:
  • Has a relevant qualification in Sales and Marketing or a minimum of one year experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in computer software systems including MS Office and CRM software along with Data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An exceptional level of attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment.
