Finance Manager
to oversee all financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and provide strategic guidance to support the business's growth and profitability. This role is critical to optimising financial performance and supporting key business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the finance team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to maintain high standards of financial management.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
Work with external management and financial accountants to prepare financial reports, including monthly P&L and KPI reports, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement cost control measures to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
Submit VAT returns and undertake monthly reconciliations.
Collaborate with senior leadership to provide insights on financial performance and support strategic initiatives.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations (GAAP, HMRC filings, VAT returns) and strengthen internal controls.
Assist with annual audits and external reviews.
Manage ad hoc projects and analyse scenarios with a solution-oriented mindset.
Work with our IT Director and external management accountants to develop and maintain reporting suites to support decision-making and identify focus areas.

A salary of 45,000 - 50,000, with opportunities for progression to Finance Director within five years.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
Proficiency in financial management software (Sage 50 Accounts) and Microsoft Office.
Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams.
Ability to work independently under tight schedules while managing multiple priorities.
Knowledge of payroll and experience in food production, agriculture, or manufacturing sectors is a plus.
Our turnover is circa 90 million - experience in a similar sized business is beneficial.
Our Ideal Candidate
AAT Level 3/4 qualified with 3+ years of experience in a similar financial management role.
Results-driven and metric-focused, with a passion for achieving measurable outcomes.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Detail-oriented, demonstrating accuracy and commitment to all tasks.
