The Continuous Improvement & Technology Team within OUP\xe2\x80\x99s Academic Sales function provides system and process improvement support to range of global users including sales representatives, processing operatives, customer-facing and sales support staff.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity in our Academic Sales function, acting as the key interface between the business and Technology for delivery of Salesforce improvements, and supporting day-to-day activities through management of a team of two Salesforce Admin Assistants.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define and communicate a clear Salesforce vision and strategy for Academic Sales that aligns with business goals and customer needs.
  • Conducting user research and engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs, capture requirements, and translate them into well-defined user stories.
  • Creating, refining, and prioritising the Salesforce development backlog, ensuring that it contains clear and actionable user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Regularly communicating and engaging with stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and keep them informed of progress.
  • Working closely with development teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of new features, making sure they meet the defined acceptance criteria and customer expectations.
  • Collaborating with sales teams to plan and execute successful launches of new features, including training and support materials.
  • Through management of the Salesforce Admin Assistants, ensuring critical BAU support, data-loading and configuration processes are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Acting as Salesforce expert user for Academic Sales, guiding management and user groups on Salesforce best practice and highlighting opportunities to exploit Salesforce features to improve process efficiency and increase revenue.
  • Representing Academic Sales on press-wide Salesforce steering groups to ensure the needs of Academic Sales are represented in the development of OUP\xe2\x80\x99s strategic CRM roadmap and best-practice principles.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

To be successful in this role you must:
  • Have experience working as an Agile Product Owner or similar role.
  • Be a Salesforce Certified Administrator certification with a minimum of 5 years administrative experience.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
Desirable:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Experience implementing or maintaining Salesforce CPQ or other CPQ solutions.
  • Experience with complex data migrations and use of Alteryx or similar Extract-Transform-Load tools.
  • Knowledge of Lean process improvement methodology and tools.
