Anstruther Hair & Beauty are seeking an experienced and driven Salon & Retail Manager to help take our business in a new direction. Our vision is to have a unique retail presence on the High Street supporting our aesthetics, hair and beauty salon with high end products available over the counter.

This is a pivotal role that requires a confident, organised, and people-focused professional to run the day-to-day operation of the retail space and salon. You'll be central to making our business thrive maintaining high standards of service, care, and professionalism. With a hands-on, floor-based approach, your focus is to support both the team and Leigh Anstruther, the owner, while ensuring every guest and customer has an unforgettable experience.

With a strong understanding of sales, client experience, and salon efficiency, the ideal candidate will be passionate about the hair, beauty and aesthetics industry and possess the ability to lead a team while maintaining high standards of service, care and professionalism. You will be responsible for maximising sales and revenue in the retail environment as well as converting retail customers to salon customers and building strong relationships with a focus on repeat business.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day operations to ensure the salon runs smoothly and professionally at all times. Oversee front-of-house performance and ensure outstanding client experiences from start to finish. Drive revenue growth through client retention strategies, sales tracking and up-selling taking a forward-thinking, innovative approach to our services. Maximise the booking/appointments ensuring the salon is always working to capacity Act as the main point of contact between the salon owner and the team, reporting progress and updates regularly. Oversee the performance of the team and recruitment. Manage all stock and ordering in collaboration with the salon owner Ensure the retail space and salon is always fully equipped and stock is organised, accessible, and up-to-date. Maintain a clean, stylish, and well-organised retail/reception area. Proactively manage our social media presence by creating compelling content, engaging with followers, and responding to online feedback. Liaise and work with Leigh to take the salon forward into its new concept.

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience in salon management or senior front-of-house roles within the beauty, wellness, or retail sectors. Clear, confident communication and a collaborative mindset. A proactive approach to organisation, time management, and problem-solving. Tech confidence--you're comfortable navigating salon booking systems and staying ahead of the game. Knowledge and familiarity of a Booking System is beneficial. Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends with the ability to create meaningful content. Knowledge of a platform such as Hoot Suite or Sprout social would be useful But not essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. A genuine love for service, people, and creating an exceptional client journey from start to finish. The ability to multitask with ease while maintaining calm, focus, and professionalism.
Knowledge of hair or beauty services is an advantage but not necessary.

Hours of work

This is a part-time position for a minimum of 3 days a week with Fridays and Saturdays expected every week. There is scope for some flexibility on the number of days and the occasional change of working days. There is also future scope for this to become a full-time position subject to business needs and the individual.
