Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sewing Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sewing manufacturing processes and a keen eye for detail. This role involves using an industrial flat bed sewing machine to create high quality hand made garments, ensuring excellent standards are met throughout the production process.

Pre - Production Sample Maker

The job role may involve:

1. Reading and understanding specifications

2. Interpreting a sample pack

3. Producing sample garments

Performance Criteria

Examine and interpret given specifications Liaise with others to confirm given specifications and requirements Clarify points and discuss issues regarding the given specifications and requirements Prepare machines as required in the specifications Identify and select appropriate thread, needle and work aids Identify and report missing components Cut or request for cutting missing or damaged components if necessary Identify and select appropriate sewing techniques Order and prioritise and record the sequence of the garments make-up Critically examine sample garments throughout the sample production process Use safe working practices that conform to current codes of practice Identify and report issues with components, design, materials Diagnose equipment faults correctly and take appropriate corrective action Identify problems and resolve issues within limits of your own responsibility Report problems outside area of responsibility to the appropriate person Be aware of quality assurance procedures and practices that must be adhered to for the development of samples and production runs Work within our manufacturing procedures, processes and techniques Understand the customer quality standards and finishing requirements
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-13.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 37.5 per week
