Job Summary

We are seeking a cheerful and engaging individual to embody the festive spirit as Santa Claus. This role involves entertaining children and families, creating magical holiday experiences, and spreading joy within the community. The successful candidate will be a warm, approachable figure who can connect with audiences of all ages, delivering a memorable holiday experience. Previous experience in performance, public speaking, or teaching is advantageous but not essential, as enthusiasm and a genuine love for the festive season are key. This position offers an enjoyable opportunity to participate in holiday celebrations and bring happiness to others.

Duties

Dress in full Santa Claus costume and maintain a cheerful, welcoming demeanour at all times Greet children and families with warmth and friendliness, creating a joyful atmosphere Engage in storytelling, singing festive songs, and participating in holiday-themed activities Pose for photographs with visitors and assist in creating lasting holiday memories Distribute small gifts or treats as appropriate, ensuring safety and hygiene standards are maintained Coordinate with event organisers to ensure smooth flow of activities and adherence to schedule Maintain professionalism and embody the spirit of Christmas throughout all interactions

Experience

Previous experience in public speaking, teaching, or similar roles is desirable but not mandatory Strong communication skills with the ability to engage audiences of all ages effectively A friendly and approachable personality with excellent interpersonal skills Confidence in performing in front of groups and handling multiple interactions simultaneously Enthusiasm for the festive season and a genuine desire to spread holiday cheer Welsh speaking (to enhance the experience for Welsh-speaking visitors)

Key Dates

Weekends and holiday dates in December up to and including Christmas Eve (Grotto). Two weekdays per week for "Breakfast with Santa" events (excluding school holidays). Additional hours or dates may be available depending on event demand.

Job Types: Temporary, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 1 month

Pay: 12.21-12.71 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 7 per week
