Job Title: Santa Claus - Christmas Grotto 2025

Location: St. Enoch Square, Glasgow City Centre

Rate of Pay:30.00 an hour

Contract Type: Temporary, seasonal

About the Role:

We are looking for a warm, engaging and reliable Santa Claus to bring the magic of Christmas to life at the St. Enoch Square Christmas Grotto. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for the festive season and the ability to create a joyful, memorable experience for every child who visits.

You'll work closely with the Chief Elf and Support Elves to ensure a smooth-running grotto and a truly magical atmosphere for all families attending.

Work Dates and Times:

Thursday 20th November - 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd November - 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th November - 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th December - 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th December - 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday 20th, Sunday 21st, Monday 22nd & Tuesday 23rd December - 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Please note: You will receive 30 minutes of paid dressing time, and are required to arrive at 10:15 AM to allow time for dressing, signing in and preparation before opening.

Responsibilities:

Portray Santa Claus with warmth, energy and authenticity. Welcome children and families, listen to Christmas wishes and create memorable interactions. Pose for photographs and assist with small gift distribution. Work alongside elves and event staff to maintain a smooth visitor experience. Ensure every child leaves with a smile and a little bit of Christmas magic.
Requirements:

Friendly, patient and excellent with children and families. Strong communication and improvisation skills. Comfortable wearing the Santa costume and beard for extended periods. Reliable and punctual. Acting, storytelling or customer service experience preferred. A genuine enthusiasm for spreading festive joy.
