Dunelm SAP Landscape





Dunelm's SAP solutions underpin many of Dunelm's operations including Finance, Manufacturing, Inventory management, Order management, Warehouse management, HR and Payroll. These SAP solutions will be coming out of mainstream support in Dec 2027 and at the end of their operational life in Dec 2030. Over the next few years, we are planning to replace these legacy SAP solutions with more modern enterprise platforms from SAP or others depending on the respective costs / benefits assessed as we develop the plan.



Working Model




This role is based out of Leicester office with hybrid working. On-site presence will be required to support stakeholder meetings, team meetings and programme phases such as workshops, testing, and go-live. Travel to other Dunelm sites and partner locations may be expected depending on programme needs.

What you'll be doing





We are seeking a hands-on, delivery-focused

SAP S/4HANA Programme Manager

to lead the technical execution of our enterprise-wide SAP transformation programme. This role is critical to ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and implementation of SAP S/4HANA and related systems across the business.



You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of the programme, working closely with internal teams, system integrators, and SAP to ensure milestones are met, risks are managed, and technical solutions are delivered to a high standard. This role requires deep experience in Enterprise system programme management, particularly with Brownfield or Selective Data Transition approaches, and a strong grasp of SAP architecture and integration. Experience with enterprise People solutions (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday) and warehousing systems (e.g., SAP EWM HANA, Manhattan) is desirable.


Key Responsibilities




Technical Programme Delivery




Own the detailed planning and execution of the SAP S/4HANA technical workstreams, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, and budget. Manage the programme office and maintain integrated delivery plans across technical domains (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, HR, etc.). Apply delivery methodologies such as SAP Activate, Agile, or Hybrid models to ensure structured and flexible execution. Coordinate cutover planning, release management, and technical change control processes. Support the design authority and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and data governance standards.

Stakeholder & Communication Management




Act as the primary point of contact for technical delivery updates, risks, and dependencies between this and other programs. Provide clear, consistent reporting to programme sponsors, steering committees, and operational stakeholders. Collaborate with business and IT teams to ensure technical solutions align with business requirements and transformation goals.

Team & Vendor Coordination




Lead cross-functional delivery teams, including internal IT staff, workstream leads, and external partners. Manage day-to-day relationships with SAP, system integrators, and third-party vendors, ensuring delivery against SLAs and SoWs. Foster a delivery culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Financial & Risk Oversight




Manage programme-level financials for technical delivery, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting in collaboration with Finance and PMO. Identify and manage risks, issues, and interdependencies, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where needed.

What we'll look for in you




Essential




Proven track record in end-to-end SAP S/4HANA programme delivery across complex, multi-business-unit or regulated environments. Experience with Brownfield and/or Selective Transformation approaches and building S/4HANA transformation roadmaps. Expert in Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery methodologies, and experience with SAP Activate framework. Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Strong financial and commercial acumen including licence management, vendor negotiation, and portfolio financial control Understanding of SAP architecture, modules, and integration points e.g Finance, Warehousing, HR etc

Desirable




Experience of implementing enterprise level People solutions (e.g. SAP Successfactors, Workday etc) and Warehousing solutions (e.g SAP EWM HANA etc) Familiarity with SAP BTP, RISE with SAP, and cloud/on-premise hybrid models. Experience in Retail, FMCG or supply chain industries. SAP certifications or recognised programme management credentials (e.g. PMP, Prince, MSP).
