Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver's Mate to join our team. This is every Saturday. 0600 and 0330 starts. The successful candidate will assist the driver in delivering goods efficiently and safely while ensuring excellent customer service. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of our delivery process and requires strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to teamwork.

Duties

Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods from the vehicle, ensuring safe handling of items. Communicate effectively with the driver to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to schedules. Help navigate routes and provide support during deliveries, including managing paperwork and delivery confirmations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle, ensuring all equipment is in good working order. Operate warehouse equipment as needed, including flatbed vehicles when required. Support the driver in performing basic mechanical checks on the vehicle prior to departure.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred but not essential. Valid driving licence; experience driving commercial vehicles or vans is advantageous. Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Ability to work collaboratively in a warehouse environment, demonstrating teamwork and reliability. A proactive attitude towards health and safety practices within the workplace.
