Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sausage Maker/Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end production of high-quality sausages and other meat products like burgers, and black pudding, from raw ingredient preparation to final packaging. This role requires precision, adherence to established recipes, and the ability to operate specialised equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Meat Preparation & Processing:

Prepare and process meat products, including trimming, deboning, mincing, mixing, and seasoning according to company recipes and specifications.

Recipe Adherence:

Accurately weigh and measure ingredients (meat, spices, curing, salts, liquids) to ensure consistent flavour, ensure and quality across batches.

Equipment Operation:

Safely and efficiently operate machinery such as mincer/mixers, sausage filler and vacuum packers.

Cleanliness & Safety:

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations. Following strict hygiene and safety protocols (HACCP compliance where required).

Inventory Management:

Monitor stock levels of raw materials, casings, and packing supplies, reporting shortages to the manager.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of quality products.

Qualifications

Experience:

Previous experience in meat processing, butchery or food manufacturing is essential, though on-the-job training may be provided for the right candidate.

Food Safety Knowledge:

Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards is mandatory; relevant certifications (e.g. Level 2 Food Safety, HACCP) are a plus.

Teamwork & Communication:

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 235.00-300.00 per week

Expected hours: No less than 18 per week
