Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Sausage Maker / Production Operative to join our food production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, mixing, filling, and packaging of high-quality sausages and other meat products in line with food safety standards. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, knowledge of meat processing, and a commitment to maintaining hygiene and production efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and process meat products, including mincing, mixing, seasoning, and stuffing sausages according to recipes and specifications. Operate machinery such as grinders, mixers, sausage fillers, and vacuum packers safely and efficiently. Monitor product quality throughout the production process, ensuring consistent taste, texture, and appearance. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area, following strict hygiene and sanitation standards (HACCP compliance). Label, weigh, and package finished products accurately for distribution or sale. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, seasonings, and packaging supplies; report shortages to the supervisor. Assist with stock rotation and cold storage organization. Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies. Work as part of a team to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
Requirements:

Previous experience in meat processing or food manufacturing is essential. Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 or 3 Food Safety certification is a plus). Ability to work in chilled environments and handle raw meat products. Physically fit and able to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes or equipment.
