The Role

We are currently seeking an

experienced Stone Saw Operator

to join our production team in Hillsborough. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in

planning, cutting, profiling

, and

bespoke fabrication

of natural stone materials such as limestone, granite, and sandstone.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate

bridge saws and profiling machinery

for cutting natural stone to specific dimensions and shapes. Read and interpret

technical drawings and templates

for bespoke pieces. Plan and execute cutting jobs with precision, ensuring minimal waste and high-quality finishes. Perform

routine maintenance

on saws and machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. Collaborate with the wider fabrication team to meet project timelines and quality standards. Assist in the

handling, moving, and organisation

of stone slabs and finished products within the yard. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with

health and safety procedures

.

Requirements:

Proven experience operating stone saws, preferably in a

natural stone or construction environment

. Strong attention to detail and an eye for precision work. Ability to read and understand

CAD drawings or hand-marked templates

. Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to cutting specifications. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Familiarity with hand tools, tooling, grinding, and fabrication techniques. Experience in

bespoke fabrication

and profiling is essential. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good physical fitness and manual handling skills. Commitment to

health, safety, and quality standards

.

Desirable:

Forklift licence or training in material handling. Experience with

brushed, sandblasted, or flamed finishes

.
