Job Description
Honister Slate Mine is the last working slate mine in England. We work in the specialized sector of High-end residential and commercial stone projects. We are looking for a responsible person who is self motivated and will be working within a team manufacturing roofing slate.
You will be taught how to make roofing slate using traditional techniques. It is a skilled job and would require some patience to complete the training. If you are willing to work hard and learn about a great industry, are helpful, with a positive outlook and can work under pressure please contact us and organize an interview.
You will also be taught how to operate our saw's to process the block coming out of the mines, as well as driving the tourist bus with visitors up and down the mine track.
Experience with slate and/or wood is a bonus
Working as a team and self-manageable
A valid UK driving licence held for two years and more.
The interview will be a trial day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
