We're growing our management team with a Scaffolding Project Manager to lead delivery of our scaffold package on a major Laing O'Rourke project in Oxford. You'll own day-to-day site delivery, safety and quality compliance, programme coordination, and client liaison--ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to specification.
What you'll doHealth & Safety
Drive a safety-first culture across all scaffolding operations.
Ensure all works comply with TG20:21, SG4, and site-specific RAMS.
Lead inspections, toolbox talks, and audits; maintain statutory and client records.
Planning & Delivery
Develop and monitor scaffold programmes aligned to construction requirements.
Sequence and coordinate erection, adaptations, and dismantle to meet access needs.
Integrate with Laing O'Rourke construction teams to minimise clashes and downtime.
Stakeholder & Client Management
Act as primary liaison with Laing O'Rourke site management and other subcontractors.
Lead progress meetings; present updates, risks, and mitigation plans.
Maintain clear daily communication with client reps and site supervisors.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure structures meet design/spec, drawings, and legislative requirements.
Manage handovers, inspections, and tagging; coordinate with design engineers for bespoke solutions.
Uphold Allsafe and Tier-1 contractor standards of professional excellence.
Commercial & Reporting
Track labour, materials, changes, and variations for internal reporting.
Support valuations, claims, and change management with timely, accurate data.
Provide weekly progress and cost reports demonstrating package performance.
What you'll bring
Essential
Proven experience managing scaffolding packages on large construction projects (Tier-1 sites).
Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems, legislation, and best practice (CISRS background desirable).
Ability to read scaffold designs, drawings, and construction programmes.
Excellent organisation, communication, and leadership skills.
Desirable/Qualifications
SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely.
CISRS Advanced Scaffolder/Supervisor; Advanced Inspection Card; Gold Supervisor.
Experience with Laing O'Rourke or other Tier-1 principal contractors.
Familiarity with digital reporting tools (e.g., Fieldview, Snagmaster, Asite).
(Training can be provided to close gaps.)
