Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Worker to join our team. This role involves assisting with the organisation, maintenance, and preparation of materials and equipment on-site. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for safety, be willing to learn new skills, and contribute to the smooth operation of our yard. Previous experience in construction-related trades is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials using hand tools and power tools Organising and maintaining the yard, ensuring it remains tidy and safe Handling and transporting building materials such as timber, bricks, or metal components Supporting tradespeople with their tasks, including carrying tools and supplies Operating basic machinery or equipment as required, under supervision Assisting with site preparation for construction or renovation projects Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed at all times

Experience

Previous experience in carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, or fabrication is desirable but not mandatory Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments Practical knowledge of site safety procedures and practices Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Willingness to learn new skills and undertake physical tasks efficiently
